Camp Host’s are the Jamboree’s first contacts to welcome our guests, get them settled in and orientated for the weekend. The Camp Host will often be the “face” of the Jamboree, and needs to maintain a positive and friendly attitude throughout the weekend. The Camp Host position starts with a Wednesday evening meeting and ends Monday morning. Camp Hosts report to their Lead Camp Host or Camping Supervisor in their individual campground. Camp Hosts must supply their own RV or tent.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet, Sign in campers and collect camping tickets and issue permits.
  • Collect payments for extra cars or additional camp site sales, in adherence to Jamboree cash collection and ticket issuance procedures.
  • Assist our camping guests and ensure they find their correct campsite.
  • Be available to answer questions and provide directions.
  • Settle minor disputes in a friendly and diplomatic manner (security and the city police are available for difficult folks).
  • Contact help when emergencies occur or when activities or situations arise that require the attention of security or law enforcement personnel.
  • Be available for any additional assigned duties, as directed by the Lead Camp Host and/or Camping Area Supervisors.
  • Police the camp area as necessary, both during and after the conclusion of the weekend.

COMPENSATION:

  • Meals at the on-site volunteer hospitality area (Friday-Sunday).
  • Two volunteer shirts.
  • One additional three-day general admission concert ticket provided at no cost.
  • A stipend to assist in covering travel costs, gasoline, food, etc.
  • Three-day wristbands for each camp host.
  • Two additional three-day general admission concert tickets are offered at a discounted price for a friend or family member.
